The Essex Pride celebrations will continue this year, just in a different way.

The 16th annual Essex Pride event, which was due to take place on Saturday 20th June in Chelmsford, will now be celebrated online with a special YouTube broadcast.

Garry Ormes, Chair of Essex Pride explains, “We couldn’t let something as important as Essex Pride pass by without recognition. The Pride movement has been hugely significant in bringing equality for the LGBT+ community, helping to bring about changes in society and law.
By celebrating pride, we remember those who have campaigned and championed for the LGBT+ community, and it is also important that we continue to spread the message of acceptance, regardless of someone’s sexual orientation, gender or race. This year's online Essex pride has received support and contributions from many organisations, charities, and services that attend the event that normally takes place in Central Park in Chelmsford.
Essex Digital Pride will also be recognising The Stonewall Riots, a significant moment in LGBT+ history, as well as featuring exclusive performances, special guests, messages and interviews.

This virtual pride event, will also feature favourite moments and previous footage from Essex Pride, alongside contributions from artists including:
SINITTA – CHERYL HOLE – N-TRANCE
With special guest Ru-Paul Drag Race Queen - Cynthia Lee Fontaine
Plus tribute artists to P!NK & Dolly Parton
And a virtual after party DJ set from Jessie Brooke
