Essex Pride are pleased to announce that Essex Pride 2016 will be on a Saturday.
The location stays the same with lots of exciting new things happening. We still have our big top tent featuring over 30 live acts to keep you entertained.
The annual celebration of LGBT life in Essex and beyond, announces this year's live acts and entertainment line-up.
Essex Pride is an event is for the whole community, bringing a day of fun, entertainment and colour to Chelmsford's Central Park, and it's more than just a huge party. Pride promotes Essex as an accepting and diverse county, and inspires everyone to embrace equality, and demonstrates that people from all walks of life throughout Essex, can join in together.
This year's event takes place on Saturday 9th July in Central Park, Chelmsford from 12 Mid-day until late, and has something for everyone including:
• Big top marquee with over 30 Live Acts and DJ's
• Showcase Community Arena
• Circus Workshop & Funfair
• Entertaining Sideshows & Stalls
• Great Food & Licensed Bars
• Plus the Essex Pride Dog Show
Over 30 live acts and DJs feature in the big top marquee and the main stage will be hosted by Nina Ambrose, Saski and Drag Queen Lola Lasagne. Performing live will be Sclub Featuring Jo and Bradley, with hit songs such as 'Don't Stop Movin' and 'Reach' as well as R'nB girlband Stooshe performing their hits 'Blackheart' and 'Waterfalls'. The Voice finalist Lydia Lucy will also perform on the main stage. Top drag and comedy acts include Miss Jason and the UK's best live tribute acts to Taylor Swift, Pink, and Whitney Houston, plus there will be special guest DJ's. Show off your pampered pooch in the Essex Pride Dog Show, returning once again this year. What food and drink is available?
There's plenty of food for everyone's tastes, from burgers and chips to wraps, healthy options and lots more. The Food Station stand is sure to fill all your food needs, but for something different, head over to the Wok n Roll for the best flavours of China. The event has two licensed bars on site, one situated on the main park and another within the big top circus tent. Both serve a range of beers, spirits and soft drinks to get you into the spirit of Essex Pride.
How do I get there?
If you're travelling by car, the A12 links Chelmsford and East Anglia to the M25, which is only 15 minutes away from the site at Central Park, Chelmsford. The city has over 5000 parking spaces, and there are two Park and Ride sites, at Chelmer Valley and Sandon Park. If you are coming by train, the Pride site is just a ten minute walk from Chelmsford Railway Station. First buses operate throughout Essex, with many stops around the park area.
