LGBTQ+ Bar open six days per week (Tuesdays to Sundays) owned by married transgender female couple called Kirsty & Lilly.

Our bar is a bright fresh looking, somewhat quirky, and definitely feminine in its appearance. This is Chelmsford's only dedicated fully queer public house with a coffee & Cocktail separate bar at the rear of the venue. Originally a seventeenth century coach house. It has a double gate to the side of the pub that opens up to a large rear courtyard which is packed with customers on Friday and Saturday nights when Drag Cabaret performers entertain our customers. Kirsty is a professional DJ and carries on where the Drag acts finish to create a party atmosphere unrivalled anywhere else. Inclusion, acceptance and celebration for who you are is our motto.

There, is no place for hate and discrimination at Bar Plus. You'll feel the welcoming fun atmosphere as soon as you walk inside. We are always here to talk to anyone who needs to chat about anything on your mind.

Facilities

We have good wheelchair access, please ask for the ramp for the toilets and we will be happy to set it out for you.
We have a pet friendly policy that lasts until 9pm on Friday and Saturday evenings and from open until close on all other days.
A brand new Coffee/cocktail bar has been built at the rear of the venue.
A large covering with heaters is being built from Monday 16th September due to the popularity of our outside courtyard and the extra numbers who wish to use our bar.
A DJ stand at the front the venue is home to DJ Kirsty, one of the owners, who entertains most evenings with Quiz Nights, Karaoke, DJ Dukebox, and Open Mic Nights.
We have a large selection of Draught and bottled beers, and we are proud to sell Brooklyn Brewery Stonewall IPA, and our very own beer that cannot be bought anywhere else, a German pilsner beer that Kirsty named and branded herself: QUIERE!
We also stock a huge selection of spirits and liqueur shots, as well as our own style of cocktails. Plus we support Chelmsford's very own Essex Distillery who make better Gins, Vodka's and Rum's than you'll find anywhere - you must try the Pink Jam Gin, delicious!!
