Now that Christmas is over, we can look forwards and plan what we are going to do in 2025. We have what we believe to be the most comprehensive list of pride events that can be found. Currently, we have 503 that are taking place in 2025, which is more than we had in the whole of 2020. In 2024, we had 1,224 and hope to break this record this year. So don’t forget to look at our pride events if you are planning to get away. You could even have a pride tour holidays, where you attend as many prides as you can (pride bagging). If you do, we would love to hear your story. Add a pride to our internation list if you know of one we currently don’t have.

Last year our most popular page was our Slang Dictionary, where we list all those LGBTQ+ slang words, dating abbreviations, acronyms & slang terms. Followed by our 2024 pride page. You may have noticed we have had a slight redesign, making PinkUk even more pink.

You may have heard in the news about the Pink News sexual misconduct claims. Some people get us confused with Pink News. We are not linked with them at all.

One must-read is PinkUk’s creator, Dave’s heart attack story with it concluding third part, where he talks about the recovery from a heart bypass operation and how happy his pet spaniel, Stanley, was to see him back at home.

Finally, by the time our next newsletter is out, Trump will be the president of the USA or is it president Musk and vice-president Trump?  Let’s hope that LGBTQ+ rights in America don’t get eroded away and not too much damage is caused to the rest of the world. Only time will tell.

Featured venue: Bar Plus, Chelmsford, England

Bar Plus in Chelmsford that originally was a 17th century coach house. It is a bright fresh looking, somewhat quirky, and definitely feminine in its appearance. They are Chelmsford's only dedicated fully queer public house, with a coffee & Cocktail separate bar at the rear of the venue. They have a double gate to the side of the pub that opens up to a large rear courtyard which is packed with customers on Friday and Saturday nights when Drag Cabaret performers entertain our customers. Kirsty is a professional DJ and carries on where the Drag acts finish to create a party atmosphere unrivalled anywhere else. Inclusion, acceptance and celebration for who you are is their motto.
