Info
Parada Da Diversidade LGBTI De Curitiba takes place on Sunday the 13th November 2022.
Curitiba's 21st LGBTI Diversity Parade. Theme: Our greatest pride is to be who we are. For a Paraná of all, MÁRCIO MARINS PRESENT!
History shows us advances over the years, through struggles to guarantee the rights of the LGBTI+ community. But we cannot forget that this fight is not over. People back there fought and died so that today we could have a little more dignity as a human being.
With each passing day it is more necessary to exalt our pride in being who we are, we live in a time when conservatism tries to silence us and take away our rights as citizens.
The fight continues, with or without a pandemic, it is necessary to react. If back then the police arrested and beat anyone who was wearing more than 3 pieces of clothing that were not of their birth gender, today is not so different. Despite so many achievements, we cannot close our eyes to the reality of our country, which is considered the country that kills the most LGBTIs, especially Transvestites, Transsexuals and Transgender people, being in statistics, much further even than countries where being a LGBTI is considered a crime.
This year, the Curitiba LGBTI Diversity Parade completes 21 editions of a lot of struggle and history, and we need to unite more than ever to fight the crime of LGBTIphobia. We need to end the violence and hatred that LGBTI people suffer daily at home, on the street, at school, at work or wherever they are!
If yesterday it was forbidden to be an LGBTI person, today we live the law of: “you can even be LGBT, but not so much”. Sad reality that still keeps those who believe they are free in the closet.
We will take to the streets on November 13th to show that diversity is part of Paraná and Curitiba society, to show that we recognize the struggle of activists, artists and allies who have passed away today, but who still inspire us and lead us in the fight for defence and promotion of LGBTI+ CITIZENSHIP and that every form of love and expression is beautiful and must be respected, not violated and killed. Let's colour the streets of our city and show that we are proud to be who we are, LGBTI+s!
