Belfast Pride takes place on Saturday the 4th June 2022.

BELFAST — The city’s Pride Parade will return in 2022, thanks to the efforts of Belfast Area High School’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance Club. After a pandemic-related two-year hiatus and the absence of its former adult organizers, GSA’s student members announced the Belfast Pride Parade will be held Saturday, June 4.

GSA, now in its eighth year at the high school, “has missed the Pride Parade and Festival in Belfast,” the students said in a press release. “Pride is an international event that celebrates the LGBTQ community.”

According to the students, community members who planned and executed the annual Pride Parade and Festival “have moved away and there has been no group planning for this year.”

“When no adults in the community came forward for planning, the ninth-12th grade students who make up the GSA decided they would step forward and make it happen,” they said in the press release.
