PRIDE New Haven is a visible infusion of LGBTQ+ celebratory programming that highlights the culture, art, and history of New Haven and Connecticut’s LGBTQ+ community. Through this high-visibility series of events over the course of the week-long celebration, the PRIDE New Haven’s planning committee, alongside the New Haven Pride Center, turns downtown New Haven, Connecticut into a community-wide safe space for New Haven and Connecticut’s vastly diverse LGBTQ+ community.

Pride celebrations in Connecticut go back to the 1980s, but the relevance these types of gatherings is more important than ever in the face of national policy trends that attack and divide the community while simultaneously creating adversarial relationships between different minority groups. PRIDE New Haven, which celebrated its 20th Anniversary in 2018, is the only pride celebration in Connecticut that creates a week-long series of events that include arts, culture, and humanities programming in tandem with celebratory events to bring the community together in shared experiences. The 22nd PRIDE New Haven will continue the tradition established in 2018 by producing a week-long celebration that features events geared towards highlighting and celebrating the history, culture, and diversity of the LGBTQQIP2sAA community.

In 2019, more than 7,500 folks joined us for 18 events over 8 days that featured more than 150 LGBTQ+ artists and speakers!
