York Pride returns in June 2026 for its 26th annual Pride Festival, transforming the historic downtown of Newmarket, Ontario, into a two-day, international-calibre celebration of 2SLGBTQ+ culture, arts, nightlife, and community. Designed as a full destination Pride weekend, York Pride 2026 invites travellers from across Canada and around the world to experience Pride beyond a single-day festival, with programming that activates the entire downtown core from Friday through Sunday.
York Pride 2026 is proudly supported by all levels of government, with funding and partnership from the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario, York Region, and the Town of Newmarket. This multi-level public investment reflects the scale, quality, and national relevance of the festival, positioning York Pride alongside major destination events taking place across Canada during the FIFA World Cup year.
Visitors are encouraged to turn Pride weekend into a full getaway. York Pride welcomes international travellers and offers support with hotel promotions, discounted room blocks, VIP and artist meet-and-greet opportunities, and curated weekend itineraries. Only 40 minutes north of Toronto, GO Trains and buses from Toronto to the festival all weekend long.

Friday
The weekend launches on Friday, 12 June with two signature town-wide experiences, the Gaymazing Race and the Pride Pub Crawl. These self-guided, high-energy events partner with some of Newmarket’s most celebrated restaurants, bars, and hospitality venues, creating a social, playful way to explore the town while supporting local businesses. Pride weekend is supported by a growing hospitality network in the downtown core, including The Postmark Hotel, Newmarket Inn, Fairfield by Marriott, and additional partner hotels within walking distance of the festival footprint.
Saturday
The main York Pride Festival takes place on Saturday 13 June from 10:00 to 23:30, featuring 50+ Ontario-based emerging queer artists and allies across multiple stages, immersive festival zones, community activations, and cultural showcases. With a projected attendance of 35,000+ local and regional guests and more than 12,000 tourists travelling into York Region, York Pride has become one of Ontario’s fastest-growing Pride celebrations outside of Toronto.
