Hull Pride 2016
Hull Pride is a free event will feature a colourful parade representing all areas of the LGBT+ community, their friends, families and supporters along with those who just believe in equality for all. (Parade gathers at Hull College, Queens gardens, Hull from 12pm - setting off at 1pm all welcome)
City centre based pride event that includes an arts based parade and street installations / theatre.
The theme for this year's parade is the Pride Flag Colours, and the parade will be sectioned into each individual colour.
The Pride flag was originally created with eight colors, but two were removed for production reason, and it has since consisted of six colored stripes. Aside from the obvious symbolism of a mixed LGBT community, the colors symbolise: life (red), healing (orange), sunlight (yellow), nature (green), harmony (blue), and spirit (purple/violet).
Our Street Party is to be opened by The Lord Mayor / Admiral of the Humber & Lady Mayoress of Kingston upon Hull at 2pm.
You will be able to enjoy all the community stalls, including a Pride one selling our famous rainbow wristbands!
We have organised a day full of acts on our main stage, outside bar and much much more.
Party with us until 10pm when we'll be taking the celebrations inside the venues!
When our daytime and evening plans are all wrapped up many of you may want to carry on the party. The great news is that you will be able to move the party inside the venues.
The entertainment will continue into the night, with the atmosphere usually being electric. There will no doubt be plenty of events organised around the city to suit everyone's taste, so much so you are likely to be spoilt for choice!
