Florence Queer Festival takes place from the 11th to the 16th October 2022.

The Florence Queer Festival is the most important Tuscan event dedicated to queer culture, organized by the Ireos association of Florence. Cinema and video, theatre and photography, literature and costume are at the centre of the path that the FQF proposes to tell the gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and intersex universe, a queer identity in constant movement that intends to overcome the stereotypes in which it is long been forced.

Since 2016, the festival has been held inside the La Compagnia cinema, the nerve centre of the city's cultural activity. The cinema is home to the most renowned festivals in Florence, and in addition to the FQF it hosts, among others, the Festival dei Popoli and the France Odeon, Lo Screen dell'Arte, Middle East Now, River to River Indian Film Festival and the International Festival of Cinema and Women.

Over the years, the event has welcomed prestigious guests such as Drusilla Foer, Lindsey Kemp, Zanelle Muoli, Ivan Cattaneo, Fabio Canino, Veronica Pivetti, Vladimir Luxuria, Eva Robins, Federico Sacchi and Eytan Fox.

2022 will be the year in which the festival will celebrate its twentieth anniversary. This edition, which will take place from 11 to 16 October and will also see many new forces within it, will therefore be an opportunity to celebrate the history of the event, as well as an opportunity to relaunch a new festival idea for the future.
