The FLORENCE QUEER FESTIVAL is the most important Tuscan festival dedicated to QUEER culture (gay, lesbian, transgender, ... and more), organized by the IREOS association of Florence.

The festival has grown to become one of the most popular on the Florentine scene and one of the most important Italian LGBT festivals.
Born in 2003 with a small 4-day review at the Puccini Theatre, it has constantly expanded the programming, the events and the public, passing from the Alfieri cinema and then the Spazio Uno, to arrive at the Odeon, the most prestigious Florentine hall, inside the 50 Days of International Cinema in Florence.
Cinema and video, theatre and photography, literature and costume, are at the centre of the path that the FQF proposes to tell the gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and intersex universe, a queer identity in continuous movement and change, which intends to overcome the stereotypes in which it has long been forced: a culture today detached from a close identity bond, which knows how to speak to everyone, and tells stories in which sexual identity is one of the elements within the narrative.
