Village Hearth Cohousing is an LGBTQIA+ focused 55+ cohousing community located in progressive Durham, North Carolina (USA). Opening in 2020 with 28 colourful cottage-style condos on a 15 acre wooded property, our single level homes with vaulted ceilings are accessible and designed for ageing in place. We're 15 minutes from downtown restaurants and theatre, yet convenient groceries/pharmacies are minutes away.

Our members are committed to neighbourly mutual support and bring myriad skills/interests to share. We are LGBTQIA+ and straight, coupled and single, working and retired. We attract members from across North America.

Furthermore, we enjoy eating food from our community raised garden beds; hiking, bicycling and kayaking at the many nearby natural areas; participating in yoga, meditation and exercise classes in our common house; holding social justice workshops and concerts in the great room; celebrating holidays and special occasions together; visiting on our spacious front porches.

We self-manage our facilities via teams of neighbours. Pets allowed per city regs. Dog park
laundry, exercise, and craft rooms
