Now that we are moving into the colder weather and Christmas is creeping up, some of us will be dusting off our fairy lights this month.
To help plan for the festive season, we’ve been busy at PinkUk Towers making the site more appropriate for younger people, we’re restricting the cruising area listings to members who have logged in (members need to be over 18). We’ve also wrapped up some of our content into a new section called Handy LGBTQ+ facts which covers UK LGBTQ+ history, LGBTQ+ flags, a dictionary, hanky codes and a section on which countries criminalise homosexuality.
It’s also International Transgender Day of Remembrance on 20 November, which highlights the losses Trans people face from bigotry and violence. The Trans community deserves their rights, which are under attack from many quarters. It’s important that those who have died or suffered are remembered, and our thoughts are with all trans people. We now have a trans page that lists trans venues and events. Please let us know of any trans venues or events that we don’t have listed.
We also cover some news on the never-ending yo-yoing by the UK government on banning conversion therapies and our updates on pride listings for the coming year.

Milestones in UK lesbian & gay legal history
We’ve created a timeline of the most important legal milestones on lesbian and gay equality in the UK. It chronicles the main changes in the law affecting lesbians and gay & bisexual men in the UK over the last 500 years. From the 1533 Buggery Act, to today in 2023 and includes the above mentioned Tory yo-yoing decisions about conversion therapies.

Conversion therapies update
Following on from our Conversion therapy feature, we have added The politics of conversion therapy: While a ban would materially protect all LGBTQ+ people from dangerous conversion practices, people of certain ethnic identities, faith heritage, Trans need this protection more than others.
Now the Tories have done yet another U-turn, will there be another one? Now I'm getting dizzy.
