It’s February, so Happy Love Month to you all. We hope you find love or something nice on the 14 February, Valentine’s Day, whether you are in a relationship or not. If you want to splash out, here are some ideas on a romantic city break on Valentines.

As it’s February it’s also LGBT+ History month in the UK which celebrates the achievements and pioneers of Pink freedom in the UK. The Month is for everyone, whether you work in education, a museum, library or art gallery, a business, a service, are a member of a network/social group or an individual. It was founded in 2004 by Schools OUT co-chairs, Paul Patrick & Professor Emeritus Sue Sanders.

On Prides, the star international festival is Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2025 14 February to 2 March. With spectacular floats, thousands of people, and a parade showcasing the glitz and diversity of Sydney’s LGBTQ+ communities.

Watch this space for new-look newsletters After five years of regular monthly PinkUk newsletters, we’ll be changing the format to a new, streamlined version. We launched our monthly newsletters in 2020 at the height of lockdowns and the pandemic in 2020 to help keep the LGBTQ+ world informed, and Pride organisations and businesses linked up at a difficult time. We are adjusting to a new, challenging, time for LGBTQ+ communities globally. So if you feel PinkUk is a good cause, you can advertise or donate.

Featured pride: London LGBTIQ+ Film Festival, Southbank, London

London LGBTIQ+ Film Festival 2025 from the 13 to 24 March. At Belvedere Road, Southbank, London. The springtime celebration of queer cinema is back. They can’t wait to welcome you to discover the best in contemporary LGBTQIA+ cinema from around the world. BFI Flare 2024 takes place at BFI Southbank, with a selection of free shorts screening online on BFI Player available across the UK.

In 2025, we have 144 prides/LGBTQ+/events in the UK, and 658 globally in 45 countries. In 2026, we have two in the UK, and 11 globally in five countries.
