Fernandina Beach Pride takes place on the weekend 8/9th June 2024.
In June 2018, Johnny Miller, Fernandina Beach Commissioner and Mayor, arranged to fly the gay pride flag over city hall for one week in acknowledgement and celebration of the Fernandina Beach LGBTQ+ community. The flag flew for a week and then came down. We still have that flag with signatures from everyone who attended the impromptu flag lowering celebration. In September 2018 the city commission passed a resolution that only allows for the federal, state and city flags to be flown over city hall. During discussion at this meeting, several of us spoke about the importance of recognising the LGBTQ+ community in Fernandina Beach. Each and every commissioner asked that instead of flying a flag we hold a Gay Pride Parade instead. So, here we are.

Parade
The parade starts at 10:00., with the festival kicking off immediately afterward. Co-emcees Katie Garner and Jana Angel from WJXT Channel 4 will take you through all the action, which includes our first-ever parade Grand Marshal (Cindy Watson, founder of JASMYN) and a high-profile keynote speaker (Trevor Gibbs, meteorologist for Action News JAX)
Festival
Our 4th annual parade and festival are shaping up to be our largest ever! We have signed up over 100 vendors, 7 food trucks, a groovy, high-energy live band, and several special guests to make this event extra special. We will also offer a Family Zone with face painting and games for kids. The 7 Street Band will play in the park until 14:00.
After party
From 14:00. The Palace Saloon (outside at the Shipyard). Our dear friend Brian Ernst will play the after party. Join us this year for the biggest Pride-related event Nassau County has ever seen!
