Whistler Pride takes from the 19th to 26th January 2025.
Join us in January for what will be an EPIC 32nd edition of the gathering that began in 1992 and is now the largest queer-focused ski week in the world. Pairing an unparalleled mountain experience with world-class events. Hosted by a team of friendly ski & snowboard guides and the festival events team - this is Canadian hospitality at its finest. The host hotel is the
Aava Whistler Hotel.
The Whistler Pride Ski-OUT and Parade is a signature moment of the festival. The vibrant colours of pride pop brilliantly against the snow as skiers fly rainbows down the mountain and transfer them to waiting revellers to paraded through the village in celebration of diversity and inclusivity.
Rainbow ski-out
Flag-bearing skiers and snowboarders fly a cavalcade of rainbow flags while slaloming down the mountain. The group gathers at Mid-Station for live music by DJ cat and refreshments before they ski-OUT, welcomed by cheers and applause as they arrive at the base – set to transfer the flags to the waiting crowd.
Meet & Greet at Skier’s Plaza
Skier’s Plaza at the base of Whistler will be buzzing with excitement as locals, visitors, festival representatives and respected guests assemble for a brief welcome ceremony mingle in anticipation of the arrival of the flag-bearers. Dress colourfully and creatively (and for the weather) to express your pride and allyship at this free public event.
Parade through the village
Everyone is invited to join the festivities to accompany the flag on its route through the village. The parade route ends at the Whistler Conference Centre when the Friday T-Dance begins!
PARADE DAY T-DANCE
Everyone is welcome as the joyful energy of the parade moves to the Grand Foyer of the Whistler Conference Centre where DJ sets will have the crowd dancing, jumping, and scream-singing along to classic pride anthems and high-energy house music. Free entry after the parade for the first hour.
WHISTLER PRIDE YOUTH PROGRAMMING
Whistler pride welcomes queer youth and allies ages 13-18 with unique sport, social and cultural programming. Register for ski groups, go tubing, participate in the parade, attend a special youth zone at the T-dance and/or go to pride movie night.
