Alkmaar Pride takes place from the 18th to 26th May 2024.
The Alkmaar Pride originated from an initiative by an entrepreneur from Alkmaar about 14 years ago. A visibility campaign with a few boats in the canals of Alkmaar. This has now grown into a boat parade with 25 to 30 boats every year. After the initiative, COC Noord-Holland Noord, in collaboration with a number of entrepreneurs in Alkmaar, created the Roze Week Alkmaar. A week full of pink activities, also in the social field, with the canal parade traditionally on the last Saturday of May. This makes the canal parade in Alkmaar the first Canal Pride next to Amsterdam. The event has grown in size and activities in recent years. Partly in the context of professionalisation, it was decided to establish a separate foundation in 2016: Alkmaar Pride Foundation.

Parade
18th May from 13:00. Colourful parade to show through flags and signs that the LGBTIQ are there and can be there. Through music and colourful company we walk from the City Hall, via the Langestraat, the Mient, Waagplein, Marktstraat, filled-in Nieuwesloot, we arrive at the canal quay and cross via the walking bridge to the Noorderkade and stop at De Kade city beach.
Information market
18th May from 14:00. Information market with associations, organisations that are involved with the LGBTIQ community. Sports activities that are accessible to everyone, come and watch and participate. During the Information Market and sports activities there will be music and spectators and participants can use the facilities of De Kad city street
Pride bike ride
19th May @ 14:00. A wonderful bike ride in the beautiful surroundings of Alkmaar. The length of the tour (25-35 km) depends on the type of cyclists participating, so it is suitable for everyone. We will gather at the rainbow bench in front of the IJkgebouw from 1:00 PM and leave at 1:15 PM. We will take a short break along the way (bring your own refreshments, if necessary also to use the resources). Likewise, we arrive at the Alkmaar coffee house around 4 p.m. where we finish with a nice drink.

25th May @ 14:00–22:00. Alkmaar Pride on the Waagplein. This year, of course, the Alkmaar Canal Parade will again be held, followed by the big Alkmaar Pride party on the Waagplein. none other than:

Closing party
25th May @ 21:00–03:00. The grand finale of Alkmaar Pride is Saturday, in Alkmaars Bierhuis with the Pride Style party from 21:00. The world-famous Style Team DJs Odin and Niels are going to throw a party again with all the bad hits you can think of. The entire evening/night will be dedicated to Alkmaar Pride. Who is Miss Eiffel Oblique? As Zoetermeer's most sparkling drag queen and proud ambassador for the ZOETER Queer Foundation, Miss Eiffel Oblique brings glitter, glamour and a message of love and acceptance to Alkmaar Pride.
