Dublin Pride takes place on Saturday the 28th June 2025.

The first LGBTQ+ group in Dublin, The Sexual Liberation Movement, was established in Trinity College, it organised a march in June 1974 to protest the laws criminalising homosexuality in Ireland. While the term Pride had not yet become popularised, and it would be several years before Dublin had an organised Pride movement, this is generally accepted as the first Dublin Pride march. By the late 1970s, the National LGBT Federation had begun to organise an annual Dublin Pride week that included events in the Hirschfeld Centre and a picnic in Merrion Square.

Dublin Pride 2025 will be a chance to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the most momentous year for LGBTQ+ rights in Irish history. While we have victories to celebrate, we still have work to do. Our trans and non-binary family are under attack. LGBTQ+ parents continue to face additional challenges. Violence against LGBTQ+ people is on the rise. We know how to make things better because we have done it before.

Parade
From 12:00, and starts at O’Connell Street. The Pride Parade is a celebration of LGBTQ+ people and culture, the highly visible spectacle of the parade plays an important role in promoting diversity, inclusion and belonging within society. It’s an opportunity to showcase the many LGBTQ+ organisations working within our community, along with allay groups who take a visible stand in support of LGBTQ+ people. This year, as we mark the 41st anniversary of the first Dublin Pride Parade, we have a number of enhancements to improve both the visible impact of the Parade and its flow and movement.

Festival
A full day festival in Merrion Square. This is a free event suitable for all ages and is supported by Dublin City Council and our festival sponsors. The festival includes 2 stages with entertainment all day, community zones, family area, quiet zone, food vendors and our new sustainability zone.
