The Marlborough Pub & Theatre is located is one of the city’s oldest public houses dating back to 1794. The building is rich in rumours of tunnels the Pavilion, debauchery, and hauntings... these days it is a friendly venue to all with a focus on queer and LGBT Brighton. The intimate 60-seater theatre complete with proscenium-arch stage is home to a huge variety of performances throughout the year including theatre, comedy and music from new local companies to nationally renowned artists like Neil Barltett and Bette Bourne.
The high point of the year is the massive fringe festival programme that overtakes the theatre in May, featuring over 80 performances across 26 days and the ever-popular Brighton Pride Street Party.
The Marlborough is also home to Pink Fringe (www.pinkfringe.org.uk ) an organisation producing and supporting queer and LGBT performance events throughout the year.
