A Love Story, a Life Change, and a New Kind of Community
Our personal journey and the heart behind Crossdressed UK
August 2025 Harry, Crossdressed UK.
When people ask how Crossdressed UK started, the short answer is: life threw us a curveball, and we decided to build something beautiful out of it.
I'm Harry, a crossdresser for as long as I can remember. For most of my life, I kept that part of me locked away. I told myself it was just a phase, something to “grow out of.” I convinced myself that if I ignored it long enough, it would disappear. Spoiler: it didn't.
Then there's my wife Anna, best friend, and now co-founder of our site. We've been together for 18 years, married for 13, and we've weathered more than a few storms. A few months back, I was made redundant from my job as a web developer, and not long before that, Anna's life was turned upside down by a sudden, life-altering disability. Everything we thought we knew about stability, work, and the future shifted overnight.
It was in that moment (with uncertainty on every side) that we decided to stop hiding, stop waiting, and start creating something that truly mattered to us. We wanted to bring together crossdressers, partners, and anyone exploring gender expression in a space that was warm, respectful, and free from the usual judgment or assumptions. A place where people could share stories, ask the questions they'd never dared to ask before, and find resources that were actually written from lived experience.
Crossdressed UK was born from our kitchen table, a mix of late nights, tea-fuelled brainstorming, and a deep belief that our community deserves better representation. We don't run ads. We don't chase clickbait. We focus on honest guides, personal experiences, and celebrating self-expression in all its forms.
The best part? We do it together. As a husband-and-wife team, we bring two perspectives, that of the crossdresser and that of the partner, which makes our approach a little different from most. We've walked the road of confusion, conversation, boundary-setting, acceptance, and, ultimately, joy in being ourselves. We share that, so others know they're not alone in walking it too.
Our mission is simple: no matter who you are or where you are on your journey, you are welcome here. Whether you're looking for tips on building confidence, wondering how to talk to your partner, or just need reassurance that you're not “wrong” for being yourself, we've got a place for you.
If you'd like to connect, share your story, or simply browse through our growing library of resources, you'll find us at crossdressed.co.uk
