Getting Pink news to you - welcome to PinkUk’s newsletter No. 4

We hope you are managing to enjoy the summer despite all the restrictions and postponement of Prides with the pandemic. Many Prides are still holding digital events such as Brighton and Hove Pride today 31 July and Saturday and Sunday.

Since our last newsletter was published LGBTQ+ pubs and bars, Bed and Breakfasts, and hotels are reopening with safe measures across the UK. We wish all our business friends our best wishes in what may be challenging trading conditions.

For holiday goers, please be aware when booking breaks abroad, listen to the news for Covid-19 outbreaks in case countries place new restrictions, for example Luxembourg has added a new self-isolate requirement.

Prides/gay events

2020 we have 150 prides and gay events in UK for 2020. PinkUk have a total of 454 gay prides and gay events in 44 countries for 2020.
2021 we have 42 prides and gay events in UK for 2021. PinkUk have a total of 89 gay prides and gay events in 20 countries for 2021.

If you have a venue or a gay Pride/Event why not add it to PinkUk.

Improvements to PinkUk

Free venues:
Enhanced PinkUK search where it was not finding venues with brackets in their names.
Added a reviews section to our T&Cs.

Advertisers:
Added price range to search engine indexing for venues.
Added a 'shop' to list of facility icons.
Added country code and venues currency symbol to applicable venues.

Homophobia is rife in Poland

That narrowly reelected Polish President Andrzej Duda has called LGBTQ+ activists "more harmful than communism". President Duda also said he agreed with another right-wing politician who stated that “LGBT [sic] is not people, it's an ideology.” There are also 'LGBTQ+ free zones' in some conservative districts of Poland.
