Waltham Pride takes place on Sunday the 16th June 2024.

Waltham has been an important place for LGBTQ+ people in New England since at least the early 1980s, as the home of one of the oldest trans rights organisations in the US, Trans Community of New England, founded in 1978. Originally known as the “Tiffany Club,” it began as a support group and safe house for trans women and male cross-dressers, with a spin-off called the “Adam Club” for trans men and female cross-dressers. In the 1990s, Waltham was also home to Vernon’s, a store on Moody St. that specialised in clothing for trans women and male cross-dressers. In the 1980s-1990s, the group “Way Out Waltham” organised gatherings for the local LGBTQ+ community, including a local party after Boston Pride.

Festival
Come show your pride with us. Join us for music, drag, circus acts, children’s activities, and more on Sunday from 11-4pm by the Waltham Common bandstand. Various LGBT and social organisations will have tables on the common as well! NOTE: This is also Father’s Day, and the day after Waltham River Fest. Wear something FESTIVE! This is pride after all - go wild! (but keep it family friendly). Bring cash to tip the musicians & drag performers (in mixed denominations). Be respectful to other attendees and remember we all have different lived experiences. Have a great time!
