Sheffield held it's first Pride event (South Yorkshire Pride) in 2008, a free community festival for the LGBT community, attracting an attendance of 4,500 people. The event grew each year with police figures giving an attendance of 10-12,000 people in 2012. From 2013-15 a pride event was held in the city by Sheffield Pride Ltd. Following the announcement by Sheffield Pride Ltd that they would be closing the company and not running any further events, a community consultation was held to gain people's response and a new Committee was elected.

Sheffield Pride shall now be known as Pride Sheffield as the new committee and event wishes to have no affiliation with Sheffield Pride Ltd.

With 2 of the original co-founders back on board and a Committee member that has many years experience managing and organising various Pride events throughout Yorkshire, we feel that Pride Sheffield 2016 will be its best year yet and invite everybody to come and enjoy the festivities.

Pride Sheffield 2016 will be a FREE event bringing together the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans* community and their friends, families and allies.
There will be no Age Restriction on the day event as this will be a Family Fun Day and Festival.

We aim to be as inclusive as we can and aim to facilitate the needs of everyone.
