Queenstown Winter Pride takes place from the 22nd August to 1st September 2024.

We’re hard at work planning a wide variety of events - including some of our favourite parties, ski & on-mountain events, après ski, game nights, drag, and more action packed festival days. Furthermore, we can’t wait to see you in Queenstown and Central Otago for an awesome, pride-filled festival. Winter Pride is a festival in a small town with a bold heart. Each year, we come together to celebrate love, community, diversity, visibility, safety, and inclusion. It is a festival that not only encourages our rainbow community but also invites the entire town to come together and celebrate diversity.

11 days packed with amazing events, with talent line-ups including some of our best loved Australasian DJs, dance parties, skiing, snowboarding and mountain walks, the festival is the perfect week for people to show their true selves in an accepting, supportive and fun community.

Origins of Gay Ski Week
In the early 2000s, the LGBTQ+ community sought an event that would blend their love for winter sports with a vibrant celebration of their identities. It was in this spirit that Mike Sandford introduced the initial Gay Ski Week in 2003. While a promising concept, the event struggled financially during its early years.
