Rainbow Games Tamaki Makaurau takes place on Friday the 4th 2025.

The Rainbow Games, Active NZ, School Sport NZ, Rainbow Westies, harboursport and students from Auckland secondary schools are collaborating to host the 2nd Rainbow Games Rangatahi Sports Day this year. The Rainbow Games is about providing Rainbow people with a sense of belonging, acceptance and inclusion as the games are a safe and inclusive space for everyone to be who they are openly and with pride. Open to all, the games focus on participation, rather than high performance sport and on providing associated cultural and celebration events for people to enjoy. The event, held every two years, will deliver an opportunity for rainbow people (and allies) to participate by becoming involved in a sport or cultural event for the games. This includes playing and practicing with others if in a team sport and then leading on to continued involvement in sport and participation in future events. One of our most important outcomes is to provide a way for Rainbow rangatahi to participate and be a part of our community.
