Castlemaine Pride takes place from the 21st April to 5th May 2023.
Picnic in the park is back. Join us for a celebration of diversity & equality for all ages at the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens (near the Tea Rooms). Along with the annual Picnic in the Park, there will be a number of LGBTIQ+ events held across Castlemaine and surrounds.

Bent Brushes Exhibition: Friday 28th April, 5.00pm to 6.00pm @ The Market Building, 44 Mostyn St. Castlemaine. An exhibition of artists from the Bent Brushes. Free event. Appropriate for all ages

Castlemaine Pride Picnic: 11.00am to 5.00pm @ Castlemaine Botanical Gardens, 2 Walker St. Castlemaine. Come and celebrate the LGBTIQA+ community in Mount Alexander Shire with our annual picnic in the park. Live entertainment, food and stalls. Free event. Appropriate for all ages
Vintage Drag in Mint Condition – An Evening with Stan Munro: 8.00pm @ Theatre Royal, 30 Hargraves St, Castlemaine. Join Kevin Markwell in conversation with legendary entertainer Dame Stan Munro as he talks about his glamorous career that stretches across three continents and six decades. 18+ audience only

Hear from 3 speakers with knowledge of LGBTIQ homelessness & ageing in Australia and Mt Alexander Shire, followed by discussion – a collaboration with Castlemaine Free University. BIG SCREEN Cute Scene: Tuesday 2nd April, 6.00pm @ Theatre Royal, 30 Hargraves St, Castlemaine. A Queer Speed Meet/Greet at the Theatre Royal, followed by a screening of festival shorts from the Geelong Pride Film Festival and after-film drinks.
