The second Broken Heel Festival will take place from 8th - 12th September 2022.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Desert, disco and plenty of Divas darling!
2022’s Festivals will bring you headline performances from our nation's best Showgirls, Bio Queens, Drag Queens, Drag Kings and DJ's representing every corner of Australia's diverse community.
Throughout the Festival’s three stages, you'll experience non-stop entertainment, comedy, cabaret, live music and social activities paying homage to the iconic cult film and stage musical, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert.
Also, don't forget to join us at the Town Square for the Main Drag In Drag street parade, where the entire community of Broken Hill joins in on the celebrations.
Plenty to see and do, you'll be living your own desert adventure with all the incredible sights, sounds and tastes in and around Broken Hill.

You can visit Glitter Girls Glitz & Glam Station for some free sparkle anytime from 10am.
Then kicking off with Peter Goers as your host, an hour of entertainment including shows from Ashtray Moona & Mama Mad B, our annual handbag toss.
Join our Priscilla inspired outfit competition for a chance to WIN! Register on the day from 11am.
PLUS dance in the street thanks to our friends at MB Electrical with SOS ABBA as they blast out some tunes from our truck Stage - followed by the festival Flash Dance Mob (learn all the moves here) and then the street parade. It's jam packed sugar!!
Street Parade
After the Town Square (approx. 1pm) starting at the Post Office, relive the film – get in drag & walk up the main drag of this country town. It’s our very own Country Mardi Gras.
The Parade walks from the Post Office to the Corner of Oxide & Argent Streets and back to The Palace Hotel.
Note, parade viewing has been extended to include the 2 blocks between Sulphide St & Oxide St.
Please note: the street closes from 10am – 3pm, so please park outside the parade route if you wish to access your vehicle during these hours. We encourage ride sharing, bringing drinking water, shade and seating.
Viewers, please keep clear of parade floats and parade animals. Please follow parade staff directions and take care of one another. And please wave!!
The shows and parade will be broadcast live via Community Radio 2 Dry 107.7FM so tune in for their live broadcast plus blast the parade soundtrack mixed especially for us by DJ Charlie Villas.
