InfoTitanic first opened in 1989 by Rob Hack and Patrick Meausette in an abandoned 12 seat diners in the bowels of a warehouse building in a rather vacant Old Montreal. Over 25 years later the original humble space has grown many-fold to a full 70 seat restaurants what started as a quirky hole-in-the-wall snack shop is now an institution in one of the most bustling and creative centres of the city.
The neighbourhood and the kitchen have both grown exponentially but the food has remained true to the original concept of mom-inspired home-style classics, big sandwiches and vegetarian antipasto. Every day there are different soups, a hot meal and desserts on the blackboard.
Besides the food, the kaleidoscope of characters who work there have always been an integral part of the Titanic experience. Like culturally diverse Montréal, the staff all have creative backgrounds and have come from all corners of the world;many of them are pictured in photo-portraits gracing the walls.
Many know Titanic as their local lunch spot but the restaurant is equally well known as a caterer for office lunches and parties.
