Nice friendly staff. Good location. Room decor was a bit airport terminal - nice wet room and excellent bed and bedding [ so many have old bedding and bad quilts etc. ] made for a good night sleep. nisy location but that is what comes from being in the city centre. Good food in the restaurant but dissapointed with the breakfast... Plenty of coffee and teas in the room - masses in fact. No lounge or anywhere to sit other than in the bar etc. Good though.

Clean and tidy, but rather sparse, lacking comfort. The chair in my room was a folding wooden slatted one, and the TV was mounted so high that it was impossible to view from any point except standing on the bed at the far end of the room. I stayed at the quite reasonably priced mid-week rate, but viewed the weekend prices with eye-watering amazement. The Amsterdam has pretensions brought on by a "designer" minimalist decor and a central location, but this is not St. Tropez, it is Brighton. Come back down to earth. If you are looking for a reasonably priced weekend stay look at other centrally placed hotels on offer before making up your mind.

Nice bar, especially in the summer. Staff are okay but usually foreign. Drinks don't seem too expensive compared to Charles Street.
