The Intercom Trust provides direct help and support for LGBT+ individuals who are in need as a result of prejudice, discrimination, social exclusion and any other LGBT+ related issues.

Our client-led Help, Support and Advocacy service provides specialist mental healthcare and emotional support against: social isolation; confusion about sexual orientation and gender; depression, grief and bereavement; self-harming and suicidal ideations and behaviours; discrimination; prejudice-related harassment and other crimes; and much more. We also provide advocacy around barriers to accessing other services, and signpost and support people to access other professional care (e.g. clinical, financial, legal or police services).

We work in partnership with service-providers in all sectors to work towards equality, and specifically to achieve fair access to services, by awareness-raising training, strategic consultancy and campaigns.

We set up and maintain the website which lists LGBT+ community groups throughout the South West, and contains local LGBT+ news and events.

We also provide consultancy and training for schools, local government, police, NHS, local businesses, etc. on a wide range of issues, as well as undertake specific projects which aim to improve the lives and experience of LGBT+ people(e.g. LGBT+ Hate Crime reporting, Devon Care Homes LGBT+ -Inclusive Guidelines for staff, residents and visitors, etc).
