InfoThis Grade II Listed Georgian Hall is set in seven acres,with mature and well laid gardens, with plenty of space for sunbathing.Furnished with the benefit of our antique shop, it has been described as 'quirky' and a 'home away from home'.We offer Salmon and Trout fishing on a private stretch of the River Esk, during the fishing season. The perfect place for rest and relaxation and only three miles from the bustling seaside town of Whitby.
There is a glamorous large twin room overlooking the garden, with two single beds, a fabulous en suite Art Deco bathroom and a separate private area to have breakfast.We have now added a separate living room on the ground floor with open log fire, and a cozy sofa and armchair, coffee table etc, - a great place to read and relax. Freesat tv in the bedroom. Free Wi-Fi, and lots of good books!
Parking is on the forecourt, for cars and we have secure storage for bicycles.
The bus service to and from Whitby is twice an hour, plus there is also the railway, which runs from Whitby to Middlesbrough, through the beautiful Esk Valley.
We are a non-smoking household , and do not take pets, though we do have an ample supply of cats!
As well as a Full English breakfast, which is locally sourced, we can offer a selection of breakfasts for all tastes as well as a delicious Vegetarian breakfast.
This is an ideal spot to unwind, as it is so peaceful, with glorious views and little passing traffic..
We live on the premises, and welcome our guests as the arrive, so it is necessary to know your rough arrival time.
We are available for advice on local restaurants, pubs etc, and can make bookings for you if required.
As we have lived in the area for nearly thirty years, we can make suggestions for local trips and interesting sights to see, that may not be featured in local guides.
When the weather is good, we welcome guests to use the garden, and also the riverside.
