From Team @PinkUk. Hi All, welcome to November’s edition. There’s so much going on within the LGBTQ+ communities and beyond, such as the soccer World Cup starting this month.
Whichever national team you are rooting for (or none) let’s hope World Cup host country Qatar will honour its pledge to offer a warm welcome to visiting LGBTQ+ soccer fans despite the country’s harsh laws against homosexuality. Famous human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell was forcibly moved on from Qatar last month after bravely denouncing the country’s human rights laws, including for LGBTQ+ people, where the death penalty still exists in some cases.
If you’re planning to attend the tournament, we’ve posted more advice on our site with some fairly common-sense tips if you’re heading there.
We also have some new contributions such as news on premium listings benefits such as larger photos for subscribers.
On a sombre point, this month many countries commemorate International Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) on the 20th. We remember all the trans people who have suffered discrimination, violence and even death just for being who they are. Our thoughts are with the hundreds of trans people who have been discriminated, even physically attacked or murdered just for who they are. US business magazine Forbes recorded 375 trans deaths globally in 2021.
November is also a time for making plans for Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year. There are loads of options. Check out our events pages.
Finally, on the tech side, we’re pleased to tell our premium listings customers that the size of your images has been increased four times. No additional charges, so an early Christmas present to businesses who use our premium service. More info below.
Best wishes from the team at PinkUk xxx

Being big is great…
We’ve enlarged the size of images for our premium listings customers by four times. So, from 320*214 pixels to 640*428 pixels. There will be no additional charge for this service. As if we have not had enough with the Covid-19 pandemic’s devastating effect on the hospitality industry, we are now being hit with an energy crisis, with the cost of gas and electric going up by huge amounts that business face now. We hope this helps in a small way. Example image
