Midsumma Festival 2020
Date: 20 Jan 2020 to 10 Feb 2020
Updated: 27 Jul 2019Midsumma Festival 2020 website
We're so excited that this year's Midsumma Festival opens with Consent Festival all day on Saturday, followed by Midsumma Carnival, bigger, better and more diverse than ever before on Sunday. Celebrate the beginning of another fabulous festival with Consent Festival at the Melba Spiegeltent, then feel the vibes as we come out of the closet and into the sun for an all-day and all-night party at Alexandra Gardens.
We're bringing back your favourites (yes and the dog show) and adding a pinch of lip-syncing, drag dazzling, stellar acts, fine food and a pop-up bar. If you didn't get through the array of stalls last year then make sure you arrive at 11am as the glitter begins to stir. We have more on offer than ever before.
Peek at our program with bite sized performances, relax in the chill-out zone, meet friends in the family domain, tackle the sports precinct and stay cool in the under 18s area. See all of the special events that lead us into the evening of T Dance, featuring a fantastic line-up of sassy sounds and DJs.
Victoria's annual queer march brings us together to stand tall and be proud, to honour community members who have brought us forth and most importantly, to revel in the celebrations with our family, friends and allies.
This year's Midsumma Pride March will highlight the diverse groups, personalties, sexualities and experiences that make our queer community so beautifully colourful. Everyone deserves to march and everyone deserves to be heard, to feel safe and to belong. We will remember that we are stronger than one and greater together!
Rock up, frock up and fly your flags at the new start time of 11am, as we embark on the kilometer-long fanfare to Catani Gardens for an afternoon of post-Pride festivities.
