Waterford Pride takes place over the weekend 18/20th August 2023.
A huge part of the LGBTQIA+ community since 2008, Waterford Pride began when a group of volunteers got together to create Waterford's first Pride festival. The event has grown year on year, with visitors travelling from all over the country to support the events, acts and community!
In recent years, a committee decision was made to halt Waterford Pride, giving the festival the time and rest it needed to re-imagine and rejuvenate itself.
Waterford Pride is a non-funded, non-profit community based organisation committed to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community while promoting diversity, equality and pride.
Parade
Gathering at Gladstone Street at 12.00, we will depart, making our way to Bank Lane at 1pm sharp
Join us as we bring you our BIGGEST and BRIGHTEST Waterford Pride Parade to date. We want you, your friends, family, acquaintances, schoolmates, dogs - EVERYBODY, to come along and help us paint the Quays rainbow. Dress how you what, the way you want. The more colourful, extravagant, and out there the better!
Help us parade Ireland's largest Pride flag along the River Suir, alongside our floats, groups, businesses, performers, dance schools, drag acts, and more.
Bring out your flags, bunting whistles, and Pride material, and make sure to be seen.
Festival
Waterford Pride brings you Smash Hits! from 19:00
This Dublin six-piece consists of experienced musicians performing the best of classic tracks from acclaimed artists such as Backstreet Boys, Mark McCabe, Peter Andre, Wheatus, MC Hammer, Dr Dre, House of Pain, Westlife, Take That, Spice Girls, Haddaway, and Snap, amongst others. Join our host Charmin Eletrik alongside extra special guest Bonnie Boux, as they bring you a whopper comedy Drag Show. Get involved with Bonnie, as she slays the stage with her Cabaret and Burlesque style numbers. Ivanna Fist and Lady Fifi Fondue will be on hand, keeping the vibe alive with their hilariously funny audience participation numbers. DJ until close!
