Awadh Pride takes place on Sunday the 27th March 2022.

The first Awadh Queer Pride Parade, was held on 9 April 2017, exactly 18 years after India's first Queer Pride Parade in Kolkata. It saw at least 300 people marching hand in hand, waving rainbow flags or wearing its colours. Many of them had come from as far away as Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh and Jaipur.

This is going to be 4th Pride in a single Row. We are super excited this year. Even IIM Lucknow is holding some Queer events

Last three year’s parades pulled the crowd of thousands of people, now again it is time to celebrate who you are and who you love without fear of being criminal.
We march together, for equality, for the right to love whoever you choose, for our loving families, for the right to use the bathroom that matches your gender identity.
Because this is PRIDE TIME, and Pride has No Boundaries.

The parade starts from Dainik Jagran chauraha runs from the Sikandarbagh chauraha down to GPO (Mahatma Gandhi statue), where the parade disperses.
Awadh Pride is an annual celebration of the LGBTQI+ and allies and everyone who believes in the principles laid down in our Constitution - Equality, Dignity, and Privacy.

Also Pride is not just about dancing, it's protest and raising your voice also against all hatred, sexism and all kind of discrimination.
