The Hong Kong Pride Parade 2019 will change to a public meeting.
The Hong Kong Police have issued a Letter of No Objection to the public event held by the Hong Kong Pride Parade only in the form of a public meeting on November 16, 2019.
The Hong Kong Pride Parade committee have decided to hold the public meeting at the original end point of the parade (Edinburgh Place) from 2 pm to 6 pm. Hong Kong Pride apologize for the inconvenience caused to the changes for the scheduled performances and booths.

The theme for Hong Kong Pride Parade 2019: Equal Justice, Equal Rights.
The Lady Justice at the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal with a blindfold and a balance symbolizes justice applying to everyone regardless of their wealth, power, or any other status. Human rights is a kind of justice and sexual minorities should not be kept out of it. As the Hong Kong Government has barely taken any initiative to enhance any legal policies to protect them, a number of sexual minorities have undergone stress in challenging the Government’s decision by using judicial reviews to fight for their equal rights. As a result, some of these cases have been declared successful by the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal. We believe that having equal rights is not just a dream and justice is not far away from us. Hong Kong Pride hope the Hong Kong Government could enhance any unfair policies, eliminate discrimination and to carry out equal rights for everyone.
This year’s Hong Kong Pride Parade calls out to people who stands for justice and those who have been deprived of their equal rights to fight for the legislation on sexual orientation discrimination. We aim to tell everyone we stand for the values of justice and that everyone should be treated equally regardless of their gender and sexual orientation.
The Hong Kong Pride Parade 2019 Dress Code: Pride Rainbow
Everyone should be able to have their equal rights regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. However, the Hong Kong Government has barely taken any initiative to enhance any unfair legal policies to protect the rights for sexual minorities. Positively thinking, we may be lucky that being an LGBT is not a criminal offence in Hong Kong compared to the stoning punishment established for LGBT's earlier this year in Brunei. For many years, Hong Kong Pride have stood up for equal rights. Although we cannot change the Government’s decision at the moment, we can see that Hong Kong is making progress as nearly 70% of Hong Kong people agree on establishing legislation on sexual orientation discrimination.
We believe that Hong Kong and those places with severe discrimination circumstances will become better places as long as everyone is willing to stand for justice and equal rights. Let’s put on rainbow colours in the parade, be proud of ourselves for standing up for justice and to bring equal rights to our future!

In the recent years, a number of sexual minorities have challenged the Government’s decision by using judicial reviews to fight for their equal rights. As a result, some of these cases such as the W case and spousal benefits for civil servants case have been declared successful by the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal and have given sexual minorities hope in reaching equality.
