Surrey History Centre:
Surrey Heritage has been preserving the archives and stories of Surrey's LGBT community through research, outreach, and projects since 2010. We are committed to developing LGBT collections at Surrey History Centre and access to LGBT heritage.

Their online LGBT case studies reveal more about the famous and not-so-famous figures from Surrey’s LGBT past, including Edward Carpenter, Noel Coward, Dirk Bogarde, Dame Ethel Smyth, Quentin Crisp, JR Ackerley, EM Forster, Harry Daley, Edward Onslow, Alan Turing, Beverley Nicholls, and Peter Pears, to name a few.

Collecting and celebrating the stories of the county and its people at Surrey History Centre.

Surrey History Centre in Woking holds the records of Surrey's remarkable history. From medieval manuscripts to modern newspapers, from watercolours to digital photographs, this treasure house of information documents the story of this vibrant and beautiful county from the 12th to the 21st centuries. Visiting the centre is free, and our staff are always happy to offer advice.
