Info
Pride Amsterdam will take place from the 1st to 6th August 2023.
Pride Amsterdam is one of the world's largest LGBTQIA+ festivals/demonstrations. 6 days with over 200 events, from readings & workshops, art & culture, diverse activities for young and old and of course the world famous Canal Parade and countless street parties that turn Amsterdam into one big dance floor.
Looking back at 25 years of Canal Parade and with 50 Pride ambassadors, each with their own story and struggle, 2023 is a good year to take stock. The support of all Pride Amsterdam participants, visitors and partners is also invaluable. That's why this year, under the motto #YouAreIncluded, we are putting everyone in the spotlight. This way we can show the world how unique Amsterdam is, that everyone counts and that we are fighting together for a safer future.
This year, Pride Amsterdam is all about diversity within the LGBTI community. The motto #YouAreIncluded stands for both individuals and groups fighting for equal rights. Visibility is therefore of great importance and helps with the many activities that are organised to bring people together.
Since 2014, the Pride Amsterdam Foundation has organised the annual Pride in Amsterdam with great success. Furthermore, the programme is also a reflection of today's society and the programme changes and expands every year. In order to continue to meet the wishes and expectations of many (sometimes new) target groups, several parties have informed the Amsterdam municipality that they want to participate in 2023. As a result, a split has been made that has created more space for an even bigger focus. Queer Amsterdam will deliver the programme from 22 to 28 July 2023 and Stichting Pride Amsterdam from 1 to 6 August 2023. The overall programme for the two weeks is called Queer & Pride Amsterdam.
Canal Parade
Sat 5 August noon - 18:00
The boats will start at the Scheepvaart museum at the eastern part of the city centre, moving towards the Amstel river. The floats will continue from there, taking the Prinsengracht towards the Westerdok.
The Canal Parade starts around 12.30 pm and will take all afternoon. Enjoy the parade from one of the (busy) bridges or from the canal quays. After the parade, visit one of the street parties to party on.
Parade
The Pride Walk returns on Saturday, 5th August. With the Pride Walk, we want to draw attention to the situation of LGBTIs in countries where homosexuality is included in.
